Sekudu is off limits to the public, so it was very kind of NParks to grant permission to us to conduct a quick survey of the wildlife at the shore. Today, I took a look at the southwest part of the island with Mei Lin and Rene while the rest went to the other side.


Ovulidae. These beautiful false cowries can be found in soft coral (Nephtheidae).

Long overdue post!

Salps seemed to be in season, they were quite plentiful. Nice drawings of salps here, the bottom right illustration (of Cyclosalpinae) includes a light organ which means some salps we see are possibly bioluminescent.
